I went to the Museum of Flight to watch them take off and land. I got to see the pilots, get jet blast (smoke) in my face from the take off, and have all six planes roar over my head before landing. I was only at about 15x zoom for this photo.
Awesome picture. I get to see this frequently (it's my job to be the guy on the ground telling them exactly where to go and how) but I'm still just as impressed every time.
This video has a couple of clips from Djibouti, where French pilots were doing 'Shows of Force' for us. One time, they were supposed to check in with me at 8 AM...but showed up early to surprise us. My 'alarm clock' was a Mirage passing less then 50 feet over my head at 06:30 in the morning!
I thought you meant from 4th of July. This is a great close-up photo. Maybe photography should be your new calling.
ReplyDeleteWOW, great photo Wendy. I am glad you were able to see them this close
